What happens if I run out of data?

The Gigs eSIM provided through the Wealthsimple perk has a fixed data limit of 10 GB. Once this data allotment has been fully used, the data service on your Gigs eSIM will stop immediately.

Unfortunately, because this Gigs eSIM is a complimentary fixed benefit from Wealthsimple, there is no option to purchase additional data or "top up" the plan. We recommend monitoring your usage carefully while traveling so you can manage your 10 GB effectively.

How to Monitor Your Data Usage

You can easily track your remaining data at any time by:

  1. Logging into your Wealthsimple mobile app.

  2. Tapping the Profile icon.

  3. Selecting your claimed Gigs milestone reward.

  4. Viewing the Remaining data counter.

Once your 10 GB has been consumed, you will need to rely on your primary carrier (if roaming is enabled) or local Wi-Fi hotspots for continued connectivity until your subscription term ends.
